Interior Douglas fir

A large evergreen tree, averaging 45-60m (145-200ft) in height with a lifespan around 500 years, although oldest living specimens over 1200 years have been discovered. Interior Douglas fir tend to grow more slowly than the coastal variety. The tree reaches maturity after 12-15 years and are known as a valuable timber tree. Found in moist to dry slopes, flats and river terraces. Common to lowland and montane zones.
